2012 Westchester Shamrock 5K

Welcome to the inaugural year of the Westchester Shamrock 5K! Come compete with runners and walkers for the best time as you race throughout Westchester Commons Shopping Center and The Shoppes at Westchester, Chesterfield County’s newest retail and business community.

Family members and spectators can line Main Street to cheer on the racers! Enjoy free admission to the festivities including, music, sports demonstrations, food and family fun. Stop by the Bon Secours Health & Fitness Zone for helpful tips, information, giveaways and samples.

5K Race

Start time: 9:00 a.m., in front of Books-A-Million along Main Street

Course:
Runners will start on Main Street at Westchester Commons Shopping center. The course is a flat asphalt surface with a couple of nice inclines for good measure. Refreshments are available at the start/finish line and along the course.
Awards: Each participant who preregisters will receive a t-shirt and bag with merchandise and coupons. This will be a timed event and awards for the top three overall finishers.
Ages: 13 and over please. This is a timed race.

Kid’s 1K Run

Start time: 9:00 a.m
Cost per child: t/c
Route: The race begins and ends on Main Street in Westchester Commons.
Awards: All participants will receive a Westchester Shamrock 1K Fun Run medal.
Ages: 4-12 years

Online Registration: January 1, 2012 through March 15, 2012. Race day registration opens at 8:00 a.m., but you are not guaranteed a T-shirt.
Packet Pick-up: Held on Friday, March 16, 2012, from 4pm-8pm at Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Centre. 15521 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA 23113.
Charity: Proceeds from the Westchester Shamrock 5K and Kid’s Fun Run benefit Movin’ Mania Healthy Kids Initiative.

School Challenges: $1000 will be donated to the school that has the highest number of participants!
